Career

=Colnago-CSF (2010–2013)=

In the spring of 2010, he sprinted his way to fourth place in the cycling monument Milan – San Remo, registering a prestigious placing.[http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/milano-sanremo-his/results Freire gives Oscar-winning performance in Milan – San Remo], cyclingnews.com, 20 Mar 2010. Retrieved 12 April 2010. He followed the near-wins of 2010 with victories in 2011, seemingly akin to winning stages in pair in races such as the Danmark Rundt, the Tour of Qinghai Lake, the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda and the Giro di Padania. In 2012,{{cite web|url=http://62.50.72.82/ucinet/default.asp?page=UCITeamsdetail&discipline=ROA&continent=ALL&teamscategory=&teamstype=PCT&year=2012&teamnameid=3347&npage=&search=&l=ENG|title=Colnago-CSF Inox (CSF) – IRL|access-date=13 January 2012|work=UCI Continental Circuits|publisher=Union Cycliste Internationale}} as he and his teammates were competing for a spot at the start of the Giro d'Italia, Modolo won stage 6 of the Tour of Turkey with a sprint. When he crossed the line, he put his thumb in his mouth, dedicating his victory to his pregnant girlfriend.{{Cite web|url=http://www.cyclingnews.com/races/presidential-cycling-tour-of-turkey-2012/stage-6/results|title = Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey 2012: Stage 6 Results|date = 27 April 2012}}

In 2013, Modolo started the year by winning the second stage of the Tour de San Luis, beating fellow sprinter Mark Cavendish ({{UCI team code|OPQ|2013}}) on the slightly uphill finish which featured some twist and turns. Modolo admitted after the stage that he learned about the specifics of the arrival by chatting with other riders during the race.{{cite news|url=http://www.cyclingnews.com/tour-de-san-luis/stage-2/results|title=Modolo wins dash to Terraza del Portezuelo in Tour de San Luis|work=CyclingNews|publisher=Future Publishing Limited|date=22 January 2013|access-date=23 January 2013|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20130125140343/http://www.cyclingnews.com/tour-de-san-luis/stage-2/results|archive-date=25 January 2013|df=dmy-all}}
