Safana is a Local Government Area in Katsina State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in the town of Safana in the east of the area at{{Coord|12|24|30|N|7|24|25|E|region:NG_type:city_source:GNS-enwiki}}. The western border of the area is shared with Zamfara State. It has an area of 282 km{{sup|2}} and a population of 183,779 at the 2006 census.
