Sahalie Falls links the Cascade Range glacial aquifer supplying Clear Lake with the McKenzie River, traveling west to join the Willamette River on the north end of Eugene - which then continues north into the Columbia River at Portland. The Columbia then flows west to Astoria before emptying into the Pacific Ocean at Cape Disappointment.{{huh?|date=April 2025|reason=sentence structure is messy}}
The waterfall consists of a 73-foot plunge, with year-round waterflow rates of {{convert|560|cuft/s|USgal/min L/h}}. There is a short access trail from the parking lot to the top of the falls, where visitors can get within twenty feet of the waterfall behind a US Forest Service railing.
