Sahar Delijani ({{langx|fa|سحر دلیجانی}}; born 1983) is an Iranian author. Her internationally acclaimed debut novel, Children of the Jacaranda Tree,

Life
Sahar Delijani was born in Evin Prison in Tehran while both her parents were detained as leftist political activists, fighting against the newly established Islamic regime.{{cite web|last=Barnett|first=Laura|title=Sahar Delijani: I had to tell my family's story of the Iranian executions.|url=https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/jul/06/sahar-delijani-family-iranian-executions|work=The Guardian|date=6 July 2013|accessdate=6 July 2013}} Delijani's mother spent two years and a half in prison and her father four years. Graduating in 2006, she moved to Turin, Italy where she lived for over 10 years. She now lives in New York City, where she is working on her second novel.
Delijani is a recipient of the de Groot Foundation COURAGE TO WRITE Grant, the Society of Authors and Author’s Foundation Grant, and fellowships at Hedgebrook and Art Omi: Writers. Several times a Pushcart nominee and longlisted for the Granum Foundation Prize and Le Livre de Poche Prix des Lecteurs, Delijani's writing has appeared in several literary magazines and newspapers including McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, Literary Hub, Kweli Journal, BBC Persian, The Bellevue Review, Slice Magazine, DW Persian, Corriere della Sera"[http://lettura.corriere.it/teheran-torino-seguendo-il-profumo-della-nonna/ Teheran-Torino Seguendo il profumo della nonna]," Corriere della Sera, and La Nazione.
