Said Sharbini is an American politician who served as a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from January 9, 2023, until his resignation on December 31, 2023. He represented Colorado's 31st House district.
Colorado House of Representatives
He was elected on November 8, 2022, in the 2022 Colorado House of Representatives election against Republican opponent Heidi Pitchforth. He assumed office on January 9, 2023.
In 2023, Sharbini, alongside other legislators, signed a letter calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza war.
On December 18, 2023, Sharbini announced he would resign as a state representative effective December 31, 2023. He said his resignation was motivated by the position's low pay, long hours, and the polarized and contentious climate in the state house.{{cite news |last=Coltrain |first=Nick |date=December 18, 2023 |title=Another first-term Colorado state representative resigns, citing vitriol in Capitol |url=https://www.denverpost.com/2023/12/18/said-sharbini-brighton-state-legislature-resigns/ |url-status=live |work=The Denver Post |location= |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231220220319/https://www.denverpost.com/2023/12/18/said-sharbini-brighton-state-legislature-resigns/ |archive-date=December 20, 2023 |access-date=December 25, 2023}}
