Career
In the 1980s and 1990s, Saki worked in the video game industry. He first met manga artist Kentaro Yabuki at preliminary meetings for the 2005 anime adaptation of Yabuki's Black Cat.{{cite book |last1=Hasemi |first1=Saki |last2=Yabuki |first2=Kentaro |title=To Love Ru |volume=17–18 |year=2019 |orig-date=2010 |publisher=Seven Seas Entertainment |isbn=978-1-947804-39-5 |chapter=Special Interview}} When Saki told Yabuki that he was interested in writing an original manga, the artist told Saki he could contact him if he had any questions. But it was Yabuki who reached out to him to work on what would become To Love Ru. To Love Ru was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from April 24, 2006, to August 31, 2009, and its sequel To Love Ru Darkness was serialized in Jump Square from October 4, 2010, to March 4, 2017. Both series received multiple anime adaptations and have been released in North America.{{cite web | url = https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-12-21/to-love-ru-trouble-sci-fi-comedy-manga-gets-tv-anime | title = To Love-Ru -Trouble- Sci-Fi Comedy Manga Gets TV Anime | date= December 21, 2007 | work = Anime News Network | access-date = December 21, 2007}}{{cite web | url = https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2017-04-21/seven-seas-licenses-to-love-ru-to-love-ru-darkness-manga/.115146 | title = Seven Seas Licenses To Love Ru, To Love Ru Darkness Manga | date= April 21, 2017 | work = Anime News Network | access-date = April 21, 2017}}
