The Salakanagara Kingdom is a mythical Indianised kingdom in Western Java that supposedly existed between the second and third centuries CE.
The main source for Salakanagara's history is the manuscript Pustaka Rajya-rajya I Bhumi Nusantara, composed in 17th century by a council led by Prince Wangsakerta of Cirebon, and a few Chinese records.{{cite book|last1=Wangsakerta|first1=Prince|title=Pustaka Rajya-Rajya I Bumi Nusantara|year=1991|location=Jakarta|isbn=979459136X}}{{cite book|last1=Wiryomartono|first1=Bagoes|title=Javanese Culture and the Meanings of Locality: Studies on the Arts, Urbanism|publisher=Lexington Books|year=2016|location=London|isbn=9781498533089}} Because the existence of the kingdom could not be verified from inscriptions, archaeological remains, literary works, or contemporary foreign chronicle, modern historians consider the manuscript to be unreliable, and as a result the kingdom is considered mythical.{{cite journal |last1=Maulana |first1=Wildhan Ichzha |title=Polemik Salakanagara: Meninjau Kebenaran Bukti Historis Salakanagara dalam Pentas Sejarah Kuno di Indonesia |journal=Diakronika |date=27 June 2023 |volume=23 |issue=1 |pages=88–112 |doi=10.24036/diakronika/vol23-iss1/334|doi-access=free }}
