History

The Daily Post was owned by Dave Price and Jim Pavelich, who were the publishers of the Palo Alto Daily News and its sister papers in San Mateo, Burlingame, Los Gatos, Redwood City and Berkeley. They sold that chain of newspapers to Knight Ridder on February 15, 2005. Joining Price and Pavelich as owners is Amando Mendoza, former circulation director of the Palo Alto Daily News.[http://cbs5.com/localwire/localfsnews/bcn/2006/05/03/n/HeadlineNews/NEW-NEWSPAPERS/resources_bcn_html Free SF Daily newspaper launched] {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060718180137/http://cbs5.com/localwire/localfsnews/bcn/2006/05/03/n/HeadlineNews/NEW-NEWSPAPERS/resources_bcn_html |date=2006-07-18 }}[http://penpressclub.org/2006/05/ex-palo-alto-publishers-launch-daily.html Ex-Palo Alto publishers launch daily in SF] The newspaper ceased operations in 2009.[http://sfappeal.com/2009/05/wire-only-winner-in-sfs-free-daily-newspaper-war/ Wire Only Winner in SF's Free Daily Newspaper War]
