Sandoricum borneense is a tree in the family Meliaceae. It is named for Borneo.
Description
Sandoricum borneense grows up to {{convert|20|m|-1}} tall, with a trunk diameter of up to {{cvt|40|cm|in|0}}, occasionally to {{cvt|60|cm|in|0}}. It has a {{plantgloss|bole}} up to {{cvt|15|m|-1}} tall, without {{plantgloss|buttress root|buttresses}}. Its smooth bark is brown. The leaves are lanceolate or ovate to elliptic and measure up to {{cvt|22|cm|0}} long. The {{plantgloss|inflorescence|inflorescences}} feature cream to green to pink flowers. The edible fruits are yellow or orange.
Distribution and habitat
Sandoricum borneense is endemic to Borneo. Its habitat is on river banks to elevations of {{cvt|330|m|-2}}.
