The film's name was revealed in November 2007. The film was produced by NRI Ramana Pemmaraju. The film marks the lead debut of Sindhura Gadde and the Telugu debut of Rohit Khurana. The film was almost entirely shot in the United States, which mainly consisted of a 45-day schedule at Washington DC.{{Cite web|url=https://www.idlebrain.com/news/functions/pressmeet-sangamam.html|title=Sangamam pressmeet - Telugu cinema - Rohit & Sindhura Gadde|website=Idlebrain.com|date=4 April 2008|access-date=19 February 2025|archive-date=7 November 2023|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231107195200/https://idlebrain.com/news/functions/pressmeet-sangamam.html|url-status=live}}{{Cite web|url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/comfortable-in-my-skin/articleshow/2830635.cms|title='Comfortable in my skin'|date=3 March 2008|work=The Times of India|access-date=19 February 2025}} Sindhura plays a woman who is close to her Indian heritage despite living in the United States. Producer Ramesh Varma felt that Sindhura was apt for the role since she is a Telugu and has travelled across the world. Murali Mohan, who played a significant role in the film, heaped praise on Sindhura's casting as he felt that many Bollywood actresses were doing Telugu films as opposed to Telugu-origin actresses. As of April 2008, the film's shooting was complete.
