The Sanremo Music Festival 1979 ({{langx|it|Festival di Sanremo 1979}}), officially the 29th Italian Song Festival ({{lang|it|29º Festival della canzone italiana}}), was the 29th annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo between 11 and 13 January 1979, and broadcast by {{lang|it|Radiotelevisione italiana|i=no}} (RAI). The winner of the festival was Mino Vergnaghi with the song "Amare".
