As 'Scott eVest' the company was founded by Scott Jordan in 2000 in Chicago, Illinois. Merchandise

Described by Jordan as travel clothing "that doesn't look like travel clothing," Scottevest coats and jackets are deliberately designed to circumnavigate baggage allowance weight and space restrictions by enabling wearers to stash the usual contents of their carry-on bag in up to 42 specially designed pockets.{{cite news|last=Upe|first=Robert|title=How to beat carry-on baggage restrictions: meet the Scottevest coat|url=http://www.smh.com.au/travel/travel-essentials/travel-news/how-to-beat-carryon-baggage-restrictions-meet-the-scottevest-coat-20140430-37gue.html |accessdate=22 May 2014 |newspaper=The Sydney Morning Herald|date=30 April 2014}}{{cite news |last=Kim |first=Soo |title=The trench coat that beats baggage charges |url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/10803798/The-trench-coat-that-beats-baggage-charges.html |accessdate=22 May 2014|newspaper=The Daily Telegraph|date=2 May 2014}} The designs are engineered to distribute the weight of the loaded pockets evenly across the garment, maintaining a slim, non-bulky silhouette. In addition to the jackets and outerwear, more unusual products include boxer shorts with a pocket for a smartphone.
One signature design feature is incorporated channels for threading wires and flexes, inspired by an accident Jordan had after snagging the cable of his headphones on a door-handle while running through an airport. Other designs incorporate flexible, detachable solar panels (made using CIGS on a stainless steel substrate), intended to be used to charge gadgets.{{cite book|last=Cho|first=Gilsoo|title=Smart clothing : technology and applications |url=https://archive.org/details/smartclothingtec00chog|url-access=limited|date=2010 |publisher=CRC Press|location=Boca Raton, FL|isbn=9781420088533|page=[https://archive.org/details/smartclothingtec00chog/page/n23 11]|edition=[Online-Ausg.]. |author2=Seungsin Lee |author3=Jayoung Cho. |editor=Gilsoo Cho|chapter=Review and Reappraisal of Smart Clothing}}{{cite book|last=Hurford|first=R.
