Reception

Seattle Weekly included the Eagle in their 2009 list of the city's ten "most intimidating" dive bars.{{Cite news|last=Seely|first=Mike|date=2009-03-24|url=http://archive.seattleweekly.com/2009-03-25/food/a-tour-of-seattle-s-10-most-intimidating-bars/|title=A Tour of Seattle's 10 Most Intimidating Dive Bars|work=Seattle Weekly|access-date=2018-06-02|archive-date=2017-10-17|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20171017213113/http://archive.seattleweekly.com/2009-03-25/food/a-tour-of-seattle-s-10-most-intimidating-bars/|url-status=live}}

Matt Baume of The Stranger wrote, "There is nothing stranger than being at the Eagle during daylight hours—somehow it feels like it should be shrouded in perpetual dark, like a Gotham City where Batman suggestively rubs Burt Ward's package in a shadowy corner. It makes a squeaky noise."{{Cite web|url=https://www.thestranger.com/the-stranger-s-guide-to-seattle-s-happiest-happy-hours/2016/10/17/24593706/the-gayest-guide-in-the-world-to-seattles-happy-hours|title=The Gayest Guide in the World to Seattle's Happy Hours|last=Baume|first=Matt|authorlink=Matt Baume|date=2016-10-17|website=The Stranger|language=en|access-date=2018-12-08|archive-date=2019-09-01|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190901181330/https://www.thestranger.com/the-stranger-s-guide-to-seattle-s-happiest-happy-hours/2016/10/17/24593706/the-gayest-guide-in-the-world-to-seattles-happy-hours|url-status=live}}
