As per the 2011 Census of India Sehara had a total population of 7,858, of which 3,996 (51%) were males and 3,862 (49%) were females. Population below 6 years was 752. Seharabzar railway station is situated, 87.2 km from Bankura, is a station on the Bankura-Masagram line (formerly Bankura Damodar Railway) of South Eastern Railway.
