Biography
"Seori" is a Korean term for "frost." The singer says: "I chose the name at first because I liked how frost looks on windows but how it's still clear and transparent. It also means 'to steal', and I wanted it to mean that I hope to steal people's hearts with my music."{{Cite web|last=Herman|first=Tamar|date=2021-07-11|title=Korean singer Seori on TXT collab and being inspired by Avril Lavigne|url=https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/k-pop/artists-celebrities/article/3140477/singer-seori-making-k-pop-txt-manifestation-and|access-date=2022-02-19|website=South China Morning Post|language=en|archive-date=October 28, 2021|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20211028123747/https://www.scmp.com/lifestyle/k-pop/artists-celebrities/article/3140477/singer-seori-making-k-pop-txt-manifestation-and|url-status=live}}

After months of experimenting on social media and releasing covers to YouTube, Seori was contacted by numerous labels, including the then-artist-less record label ATISPAUS in South Korea. Despite their lack of experience and an unconventional audition, Seori felt a connection with the firm.{{Cite web|last=Benjamin|first=Jeff|date=2021-12-30|title=Seori Is The Singer-Songwriter-Producer Manifesting Success: 'What I Imagined Is Coming True'|url=https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbenjamin/2021/12/30/seori-is-the-singer-songwriter-producer-manifesting-success-what-i-imagined-is-coming-true/|access-date=2022-02-19|website=Forbes|language=en|archive-date=January 1, 2022|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220101235602/https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbenjamin/2021/12/30/seori-is-the-singer-songwriter-producer-manifesting-success-what-i-imagined-is-coming-true/|url-status=live}}
She considered her voice to be laid-back, smooth and dreamy. When she sang, she felt happy, but the majority of her happiness came from crafting her own songs.{{Cite web|last=Karounos|first=Patricia|date=2021-10-04|title=South Korean Singer-Songwriter Seori Is Doing Things Her Own Way|url=http://www.ellecanada.com/culture/music/south-korean-singer-songwriter-seori-is-doing-things-her-own-way|access-date=2022-02-19|website=Elle Canada|language=en|archive-date=November 20, 2021|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20211120173859/https://www.ellecanada.com/culture/music/south-korean-singer-songwriter-seori-is-doing-things-her-own-way|url-status=live}}
Avril Lavigne, who she has admired since she was 11 years old, is her ideal collaborator.
