Sepolia

({{langx|el|Σεπόλια}} {{IPA|el|seˈpo.ʎa|pron}}) is a neighborhood in Athens, Greece. The Sepolia metro station is situated in the neighborhood. Sepolia owes to its name in the Greek phrase esopolis (έσω πόλις), which means "inside the city".{{cite web|title=Από που πήραν το όνομά τους διάφορες περιοχές της Αθήνας.|url=http://www.pathfinder.gr/stories/3408199/apo-poy-phran-to-onoma-toys-gnwstes-periohes-ths-athhnas|publisher=pathfinder.gr|accessdate=26 March 2015}} Sepolia was a remote settlement until the latter part of the 19th century, a few kilometers away from Athens. The Greek Census of that period didn't include Sepolia as part of Athens. The Census of 1879, for example, refers to a population of 278 inhabitants.[http://dlib.statistics.gr/portal/page/portal/ESYE/showdetails?p_id=11807138&p_derive=book&p_topic=10007862 Greek census 1879] During the following years, Sepolia joined Athens as a result of a population explosion.
