}}

The Shadow DN2, also known as the Shadow Mk.III, is a purpose-built sports prototype race car, designed, developed and built by Shadow Racing Cars to Group 7 racing specifications, to compete in the Can-Am racing series, in 1972 and 1973. It was powered by an extremely powerful Chevrolet big-block engine, developing between {{cvt|800-1200|hp|kW}}, depending on boost pressure levels, and generating an asphalt-shredding {{cvt|985|lbft|Nm}} of torque The turbocharged system was used for three races, then the team switched back to a naturally aspirated engine, still producing {{cvt|735|hp|kW}}; which was more than enough to get the job done.{{cite web | url=https://www.supercars.net/blog/1972-shadow-dn2/#:~:text=Called%20the%20DN2%20or%20Mk3,aspirated%20and%20turbocharged%20Chevrolet%20engines | title=1972 Shadow DN2 | Classic | date=22 April 2016 }}{{cite web | url=https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/spec/464/Shadow-DN2-Chevrolet-Turbo.html | title=1973 Shadow DN2 Chevrolet Turbo Specifications }}{{cite web | url=https://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z13604/shadow-dn2.aspx | title=1972 Shadow DN2 }}{{cite web | url=https://www.racingsportscars.com/type/photo/Shadow/DN2.html | title=Shadow DN2 - Photo Gallery - Racing Sports Cars }}{{cite web | url=https://www.racingsportscars.com/type/Shadow/DN2.html | title=Shadow DN2 - Racing Sports Cars }}{{cite web | url=https://motorsportsmarket.com/racecars/1973-avs-shadow-can-am-dn2/ | title=1973 AVS Shadow Can Am DN2 }}{{cite web | url=https://primotipo.com/tag/shadow-dn2-chev/ | title=Shadow DN2 Chev – primotipo… }}{{cite web | url=https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/14018/lot/516/ | title=Bonhams : The Ex-works team twin-turbocharged,1972 Shadow-Chevrolet DN2 CanAm Sports-Racing Spider Chassis no.
