Shreeman v/s Shreemati

Justice Amal Chowdhury is a judge who refuses to grant divorces. When a couple petitions for separation, he asks them to live each other's lives for one week. During this exercise, they discover Amal's own 27-year marriage dispute with his wife Aparna. Principal photography for Shreeman v/s Shreemati began in September 2024 in Kolkata. It marks the first on-screen collaboration between Mithun Chakraborty and Anjan Dutt.

In an interview with Anandabazar Online, Pathikrit Basu admitted that he deliberately cast Mithun Chakraborty in back-to-back films because he had rarely seen the actor in romantic roles and was curious to see how he would perform. Basu said, "I realized I wasn’t mistaken at all," and recalled how Anjan Dutt would stand tensely on set, watching every take of Mithun’s before planning his own next shot. He added, "Even at this age, no one knows what Mithunda can do in romantic scenes! Poorna Banerjee from Times Of India gave a 3 out 5 star review to this film and stated that Films like Projapati may have sparked Tollywood’s late-age-marriage trend, and Shreeman v/s Shreemati captures it with extra charm and humour.The first half dazzles with witty dialogue, meta-jokes and a retro ’70s ambiance, although the reason for Amal and Aparna’s split feels thin. The second half leans heavily on slapstick—some effective, some excessive—and a rushed finale that undercuts its emotional payoff.
