In 2016, he was elected Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE){{Cite web|url=https://services27.ieee.org/fellowsdirectory/menuCHRONOLOGICAL.html?beginYr=2016&endYr=2016#results_table|title=2016 elevated fellow|website=IEEE Fellows Directory}} for contributions to the understanding and application of electroactive polymer dielectrics.
