The Sigma 19mm F2.8 EX DN lens is a wide-angle prime lens for Sony E and Micro Four-Thirds mounts, announced by Sigma in January 2012. Along with the Sigma 30mm F2.8 EX DN, it was part of the first release of Sigma lenses for compact interchangeable lens cameras, and hence the inception of the "DN" line, created by Sigma to cater to these cameras,{{Cite web | url=https://blog.sigmaphoto.com/2012/new-dn-lenses/ |title = Sigma launches DN lens line with two F2.8 Primes|date = 10 January 2012}} an offering that in January 2013 was expanded with another lens, the Sigma 60mm f/2.8 DN Art.{{Cite web | url=https://www.dpreview.com/articles/7920380613/sigma-announces-60mm-f2-8-dn-lens-for-mirrorless-micro-four-thirds-and-sony-nex |title = Sigma announces 60mm F2.8 for mirrorless and redesigned 30mm F1.4 DC}}

Exterior

The lens has a matte black plastic exterior.

Optics

The lens suffers from mild barrel distortion, moderate vignetting, and moderate amounts of chromatic aberration.{{cite web |url=https://www.dxomark.com/Reviews/Sigma-19mm-F2.8-DN-A-MFT-mount-review-Modest-price-modest-performance|publisher=DXOmark |title=Sigma 19mm F2.8 EX DN: DXOmark Review |date=26 November 2013 |access-date=2017-06-28}}

In general it is a sharp lens especially in the centre and when stopped down to f8 the edges will catch-up. Flare resistance is quite good. Bokeh is smooth and colour rendition is neutral.{{Cite web|url=https://sonyalpha.blog/2018/08/27/sigma-19mm-f2-8-dn-art-aps-c/|title=Sigma 19mm F2.8 DN Art (APS-C) for Sony E mount test/review on Sony Alpha Blog|last=Alhadeff|first=Marc|date=2018-08-27|website=Sony Alpha Blog|language=en-US|access-date=2019-06-20}}

"Art" series version

On January 29, 2013, an aesthetically updated version of this lens was announced, the Sigma 19mm F2.8 DN Art.{{cite web |url=https://www.dpreview.com/products/sigma/lenses/sigma_a_m_19_2p8 |publisher=dpreview |title=Sigma 19mm F2.8 DN Art for Sony E-mount lens review: Digital Photography Review |access-date=2017-06-28}} It has a glossy black (or silver) plastic exterior with the Sigma Art "A" badge on the side of the lens. It features a large manual focus ring and a detachable barrel-type lens hood.

The optics are identical to the older version.{{cite web |url=https://www.dpreview.com/products/sigma/lenses/sigma_m_19_2p8/specifications|publisher=dpreview |title=Sigma 19mm F2.8 EX DN for Sony E-mount lens review: Digital Photography Review |access-date=2017-06-28}}
