The signal triplefin (Lepidonectes clarkhubbsi) is a species of triplefin blenny in the genus Lepidonectes.{{Fishbase|Lepidonectes|clarkhubbsi|month=April|year=2019}} It was described by William Albert Bussing in 1991{{Cof record|spid=58865|title = Lepidonectes clarkhubbsi|access-date=27 May 2019}} and he gave it a specific name which honours the American ichthyologist Clark Hubbs (1921–2008).{{cite web | url = http://www.etyfish.org/blenniiformes1/ | title = Order BLENNIIFORMES: Families TRIPTERYGIIDAE and DACTYLOSCOPIDAE | work = The ETYFish Project Fish Name Etymology Database | author1 = Christopher Scharpf | author2 = Kenneth J. The signal triplefin is found on rocky shores where it feeds on very small invertebrates and algae.
