{{Campaignbox Naxalite insurgency}}

The Silda camp attack occurred on 15 February 2010, when dozens of Naxalite Maoist insurgents ambushed Indian security forces in Silda (some 60 km from Midnapore) in West Bengal, India. The resulting death of 24 paramilitary personnel of the Eastern Frontier Rifles, and several believed to be abducted, made the attack a hard blow to the government's fight against the rebels.{{cite news|url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/Maoist-attack-Chidambaram-accepts-failure/H1-Article1-509356.aspx|title=Maoist attack: Home Minister accepts failure in some aspects|date=16 February 2010|newspaper=Hindustan Times|accessdate=17 February 2010|location=New Delhi|agency=Press Trust Of India|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20100218053511/http://www.hindustantimes.com/Maoist-attack-Chidambaram-accepts-failure/H1-Article1-509356.aspx|archivedate=18 February 2010}}{{cite news|url=http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2010-02-16/india/28149839_1_maoist-attack-people-s-liberation-guerrilla-army-efr|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20110811040408/http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2010-02-16/india/28149839_1_maoist-attack-people-s-liberation-guerrilla-army-efr|url-status=dead|archive-date=11 August 2011|title=Maoists kill 21 jawans in West Bengal|date=16 February 2010|author2=Mandal, Caesar|accessdate=17 February 2010|location=New Delhi|agency=TNN|newspaper=The Times of India|author1=Mahato, Sukumar}}{{cite news|url=http://www.ndtv.com/news/india/maoists_attack_police_camp_in_west_midnapore.php|title=Naxals massacre cops, furious Centre wants answers|author=Banerjee, Monideepa|date=16 February 2010|newspaper=NDTV|accessdate=17 February 2010|location=New Delhi}}
