Simón Gaviria Muñoz (born 24 November 1980) is a Colombian economist and politician who served as Member of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombia from 2006 until 2014. The son of the 28th President of Colombia, César Gaviria, he also served as the Director of the National Planning Department during the second Santos government. He is an economist from the University of Pennsylvania and has a MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. He is remembered for voting for the 2012 Justice reform without having read it.

Personal life

Born on 24 November 1980 in Pereira, Colombia, he is the eldest of two children, son of César Gaviria and Ana Milena Muñoz Gómez; his younger sister is María Paz Gaviria. He is married to María Margarita Amín Díaz with whom he has two daughters, Sofía and Filipa.
