Simon Kitson (born {{circa}} 1967) is a British historian.
Life
Kitson did his undergraduate studies at the University of Ulster{{cite web|url=http://www.niconnections.com/Images/whyni_education.pdf|title=NI Connections}} and his post-graduate studies at the University of Sussex,{{cite web|url=http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/ED1406/S00087/university-professor-to-be-interviewed-on-bbc-radio.htm|title=University Professor to be interviewed on BBC radio – Scoop News}} under the supervision of Roderick Kedward. His doctoral thesis on the Marseille Police, was examined by Mark Mazower and Clive Emsley.

Kitson has worked extensively on the French police and counter-espionage services.
