Simpson is a village in Johnson County, Illinois, United States. Geography
Simpson is located in eastern Johnson County at {{coord|37|28|5|N|88|45|23|W|type:city}} (37.467977, -88.756277),{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=United States Census Bureau|accessdate=April 23, 2011|date=February 12, 2011|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}} in the valley of Cedar Creek, a south-flowing tributary of Bay Creek and part of the Ohio River watershed. Illinois Route 147 passes through the village, leading southwest {{Convert|9|mi|0}} to Vienna, the county seat, and east {{convert|5|mi|0}} to its terminus at Glendale.
