Helicopsychidae (snail-case caddisflies) are a family of Trichoptera.{{Cite book|last=Kriska|first=György|title=Freshwater Invertebrates in Central Europe|publisher=Springer|year=2013|isbn=978-3-7091-1547-3|location=Vienna|pages=300–329|chapter=Caddisflies - Trichoptera|doi=10.1007/978-3-7091-1547-3_20 |chapter-url=https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-7091-1547-3_20}} The name refers to the helix shaped larval cases and they should not be confused with Limnephilidae which sometimes inhabit the snail shells. Their shells range from {{Convert|6-8|mm}} and are crafted from mineral grains. Their typical habitat is in slow-flowing water in ditches. Helicopsychidae larvae have a comb-like anal hook. Helicopsychidae is divided into two extant genera, Rakiura and Helicopsyche, and two fossil genera Electrohelicopsyche and Palaeohelicopsyche.{{Cite journal|last1=SOUZA|first1=RAQUEL LIMA DE|last2=GOMES|first2=VICTOR|last3=CALOR|first3=ADOLFO R.|date=2017-02-03|title=A new species of snail-case caddisflies (Trichoptera: Helicopsychidae) and new records of caddisflies from Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil|url=https://doi.org/10.11646/zootaxa.4227.3.3|journal=Zootaxa|volume=4227|issue=3|pages=347|doi=10.11646/zootaxa.4227.3.3|pmid=28187573 |issn=1175-5334}}{{Cite journal|last=Johanson|first=Kjell Arne|date=1953|title=Phylogenetic and biogeographic analysis of the family Helicopsychidae (Insecta: Trichoptera)|url=http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:nrm:diva-2308|journal=Entomologica Scandinavica.
