Snake II is a mobile game released in 1998 for Nokia 7110. The game is a sequel of the 1998 Snake, for Nokia 6110.
Gameplay
Snake II gameplay is similar to Snake. The player controls a snake through the numbers of the cellphone. The goal is to collect as many orbs as possible. Every time the snake eats an orb, it increases its length. If the snake collides with itself or with the scenery, the game is over.{{cite news |last=Ali |first=Joe |date=30 December 2020 |title=Media Club: Remembering one of the greatest mobile games ever |access-date=23 March 2025 |website=SB Nation |url=https://www.sbnation.com/secret-base/22206091/snake-ii-nokia-3310-mobile-game |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250323201911/https://www.sbnation.com/secret-base/22206091/snake-ii-nokia-3310-mobile-game |archive-date=23 March 2025}}
Differently from its predecessor, the main level doesn't end if the player collides with the boundaries of the map. Instead, the snake will appear on the other side of the screen. It is also possible to eat more orbs beyond the existing snake length.{{cite news |date=3 February 2025 |title=A Retro Widget update brings the original Snake II game to your Home screen |access-date=23 March 2025 |website=UMA Technology |url=https://umatechnology.org/a-retro-widget-update-brings-the-original-snake-ii-game-to-your-home-screen/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250323202206/https://umatechnology.org/a-retro-widget-update-brings-the-original-snake-ii-game-to-your-home-screen/ |archive-date=23 March 2025}} The game also features five different mazes,{{cite news |last=Putluck |first=Michael |date=9 December 2020 |title=‘Retro Widget’ brings original Snake game and more to your iPhone home screen |access-date=23 March 2025 |website=9to5Mac |url=https://9to5mac.com/2020/12/09/snake-game-iphone-widget-apple-watch/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250323202639/https://9to5mac.com/2020/12/09/snake-game-iphone-widget-apple-watch/ |archive-date=23 March 2025}} better graphics and higher speed.{{cite news |date=7 January 2025 |title=La Historia de Snake: El clásico que nunca muere |language=es |access-date=23 March 2025 |website=Dekazeta |url=https://www.dekazeta.net/la-historia-de-snake-el-clasico-que-nunca-muere/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250323203951/https://www.dekazeta.net/la-historia-de-snake-el-clasico-que-nunca-muere/ |archive-date=23 March 2025}} It was possible to play with two players using infrared connection.{{cite news |last=Wright |first=Chris |date=14 March 2016|title=A Brief History of Mobile Games: In the beginning, there was Snake |access-date=25 March 2025 |website=Pocket Gamer |url=https://www.pocketgamer.biz/a-brief-history-of-mobile-games-in-the-beginning-there-was-snake/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20250325223146/https://www.pocketgamer.biz/a-brief-history-of-mobile-games-in-the-beginning-there-was-snake/ |archive-date=25 March 2025}}
