Snapfinger Creek is a stream in DeKalb County, Georgia.{{GNIS|326079}} Another DeKalb waterway, Barbashela Creek, flows into Snapfinger, which flows into the South River.
Some say Snapfinger Creek was so named because it is a tributary or "finger," while others believe an incident in which a surveyor broke or "snapped" his finger bone while crossing the creek caused this name to be selected.{{cite book | url=http://www.kenkrakow.com/gpn/s.pdf| title=Georgia Place-Names: Their History and Origins | publisher=Winship Press | author=Krakow, Kenneth K. | year=1975 | location=Macon, GA | pages=207 | isbn=0-915430-00-2}}
