Reception

Backroad Music called Solaristics "a great lost recording" and noted the lead track "Solaristics" as being a highlight of the sessions.{{cite journal|first=Lloyd |last=Barde |url=http://www.backroadsmusic.com/catalog/download/hbcat05.pdf |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20060118223154/http://www.backroadsmusic.com/catalog/download/hbcat05.pdf |url-status=usurped |archive-date=January 18, 2006 |title=2004-2005 Music-By-Mail Catalog: Featured Vocals & World Chants: Thessalonians "Solaristics" |journal=Backroads Music |date=2005 |page=10 |accessdate=August 19, 2020}} Stefaan Van Ryssen of Leonardo On-Line gave the album a mixed review, stating that composers Kim Cascone and Larry Thrasher have created higher quality work elsewhere but noting that "each piece brings its own atmosphere, ranging from pensive to thoughtful, or from melancholy to gloomy." The critic went on to conclude that the album is an "interesting release for historic reasons but very dated for contemporary ears."{{cite journal|first=Stefaan |last=Van Ryssen |url=https://www.leonardo.info/reviews_archive/june2006/solar_ryssen.html |title=Solaristics |journal=Leonardo On-Line |publisher=The International Society for the Arts, Sciences and Technology |date=June 2006 |accessdate=August 19, 2020}}
