The Solomons island thrush (Turdus kulambangrae), also known as the Guadalcanal island thrush,{{cite web |title=Guadalcanal Island-Thrush |url=https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?avibaseid=601693AE |website=Avibase |access-date=20 October 2024}} is a species of passerine in the family Turdidae. It is endemic to the Solomon Islands. Prior to 2024, it was considered to be two different subspecies of the island thrush.
Taxonomy
The Solomons island thrush was first described in 1941 by ornithologist Ernst Mayr as a subspecies of island thrush. There are currently two recognized subspecies:
- T. k. kulambangrae Mayr, 1941 - Found on Kolombangara
- T. k. sladeni Cain & Galbraith, 1955 - Found on Guadalcanal
