During the 20th century, the village was popular as a wellness tourism destination due to its well-known baths. They have since fallen into disrepair.{{cite news |author= |date=2020 |title=Băile Someșeni, comoară îngropată în mizerie: "De 20 de ani sunt incapabili să facă ceva!" |trans-title=The Someșeni baths, a treasure buried in dust: "They have been unable to achieve anything in the last 20 years!" |url=http://www.monitorulcj.ro/actualitate/77533-baile-someseni-comoara-ingropata-in-mizerie-de-20-de-ani-sunt-incapabili-sa-faca-ceva!%E2%80%9D#sthash.gAKdPMGK.dpbs |language=Romanian |newspaper=Monitorul de Cluj |location= Cluj-Napoca |access-date=2021-01-21}}
