The Sotoyomo-class tugboats were a class of United States Navy rescue tugboats. The lead ship was {{USS|Sotoyomo|ATA-121|6}}, laid down in September 1942. Designed as "rescue tugs", the class consisted of forty-nine ships, classified as auxiliaries. Sotoyomo commemorates a part of the Sioux tribe.[https://www.history.navy.mil/research/library/online-reading-room/title-list-alphabetically/p/pearl-harbor-why-how.html UN Navy, Pearl Harbor: Why, How, Fleet Salvage and Final Appraisal, by Vice Admiral Homer N.
