Beginnings

The company was formed in late 2008 by a team composed of Daniele Calabrese{{cite web|author= |url=http://blogs.technet.com/b/bizspark_featured_startups/archive/2010/09/24/bizspark-startup-of-the-day-soundtracker.aspx |title=BizSpark Startup of the Day – Soundtracker – BizSpark Featured Startups – Site Home – TechNet Blogs |publisher=Blogs.technet.com |date=September 24, 2010 |accessdate=2015-02-19}} and 25 software developers and designers. Evolution

The first mobile platform, iOS, was developed by Daniele Calabrese and his team in Silicon Valley in 2009.{{cite web|url=http://siliconvalley.corriere.it/2011/12/20/litalia_che_avanza_soundtracke/ |title=L'Italia che avanza: Soundtracker | Silicon Valley |publisher=Siliconvalley.corriere.it |date=December 20, 2011 |accessdate=2015-02-19}} The iOS app at its inception featured 13 million tracks and allowed geo-tagging.{{cite magazine|author= |url=https://www.wired.com/2009/12/soundtrckr-is-spot-on-like-a-location-aware-pandora/ |title=Soundtrckr Is Spot-On, Like a Location-Aware Pandora |magazine=WIRED |date= |accessdate=2015-02-19|last1=Buskirk |first1=Eliot Van }}
