A spaghetti strap (also called a noodle strap) is a very thin shoulder strap used to support{{Cite web|url=https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spaghetti%20strap|title=Definition of spaghetti strap |publisher=Merriam-Webster|access-date=June 28, 2019}} clothing, while providing minimal shoulder straps over otherwise bare shoulders. It is commonly used in garments such as swimwear, camisoles, crop tops, brassieres, sundresses, cocktail dresses, and evening gowns, so-named for its resemblance to the thin pasta strings called spaghetti.

Spaghetti straps are fragile suspenders meant to support a light clothing.{{Cite news |last=Freeman |first=Hadley |date=2010-08-15 |title=Don't fall for the spaghetti-strap delusion |language=en-GB |work=The Guardian |url=https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/aug/15/ask-hadley-maxidress-spaghetti-straps |access-date=2023-12-08 |issn=0261-3077}}

Dress codes

Spaghetti straps may not meet some dress codes. For example, they are not welcome at Ascot Racecourse{{Cite web|url=https://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/gallery/ascot-dress-code |title=Ascot's strict dress code welcomes jumpsuits (but thin straps are off the menu!) |publisher=Glamour |author= Charlie Teather |date=26 April 2019|access-date=28 June 2019}} as well as in traditionalist societies like Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan.
