Spinnaker Island, within Lake Burley Griffin, is located in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. In total there are six islands in the lake, but only three are named.
Spinnaker Island and Springbank Island are both located in the West Basin of the lake.{{cite web |url=http://www.nationalcapital.gov.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1545&Itemid=497 |title=Lake Burley Griffin Recreation Policy 2010 |date=21 January 2011 |publisher=National Capital Authority |accessdate=25 October 2011 }} The West Basin extends from the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge to Black Mountain Peninsula.
In 2010, invasive exotic vegetation were found on the island, requiring a controlled burn-off for their removal and to reduce the presence of weeds.{{Cite news |url=http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-06-10/spinnaker-island-weed-burn/2754288 |title=Spinnaker island weed burn |accessdate=25 October 2011 |date=10 June 2011 |publisher=ABC News|location=Australia }}
