The Spinulosida are an order of sea stars containing at least 120 species in seven genera and one family.
Spinulosids completely lack pedicellariae and have a delicate skeletal arrangement. Their name comes from the presence of numerous low spines on the aboral (upper) surface.{{cite book |author= Barnes, Robert D. |year=1982 |title= Invertebrate Zoology |publisher= Holt-Saunders International |location= Philadelphia, PA|page= 948|isbn= 0-03-056747-5}} No fossil spinulosids have yet been found.{{cite web|url=http://palaeo.gly.bris.ac.uk/Palaeofiles/Fossilgroups/asteroz2/index_f/mod_fm.html |title=Asterozoa: Fossil groups: SciComms 05-06: Earth Sciences |publisher=Palaeo.gly.bris.ac.uk |date=2005-11-22 |access-date=2010-07-30}}
