The springbokkie ("little springbok" in the Afrikaans language) is a cocktail shooter that is popular in South Africa. It is composed of peppermint liqueur and Amarula. The drink derives its name from the South Africa national rugby union team, known as "The Springboks" after the country’s national animal, who traditionally wear green and white. The ratio of Amarula to peppermint liqueur vary substantially between recipes.{{Cite web|url=http://www.legendarypartyideas.com/springbokkie-shot.html|title=Springbokkie shot|publisher=Legendary Party Ideas|accessdate=20 December 2009|archive-date=21 June 2009|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090621003929/http://www.legendarypartyideas.com/springbokkie-shot.html|url-status=dead}}{{Cite web|url=http://www.mixeddrinkworld.com/drink/Shots/Springbokkie/15781|title=Springbokkie recipe |publisher=MixedDrinkWorld.com|accessdate=20 December 2009}}{{Cite web|url=http://www.barnonedrinks.com/drinks/s/springbokkies-6768.html|title=Springbokkies (shooter) |publisher=Bar None Drinks Recipes|accessdate=20 December 2009}}
