History

The church was built in 1844 to the designs of architect Robert Barker. The chancel was added in 1888–90 by J Holden.

Organ

The original pipe organ was enlarged and improved in 1876 by Charles Lloyd of Nottingham,{{cite news |author= |title=Codnor Parish Church |url=http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000395/18761209/165/0008 |newspaper=Derbyshire Courier |location=England |date=9 December 1876 |access-date=17 June 2017 |via=British Newspaper Archive |url-access=subscription }} but it was given to St Andrew's Church, Langar in 1906. A replacement pipe organ by Abbott and Smith was installed in 1906.
