St Thomas' Church is in Caunce Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the Deanery of Blackpool, the Archdeaconry of Lancaster and the Diocese of Blackburn.{{Citation | url = http://www.achurchnearyou.com/st-thomas-blackpool/| title = St Thomas, Blackpool| access-date = 30 August 2012| publisher = Church of England}}

History

The church was built in 1930–32 and designed by the Lancaster architect Henry Paley of Austin and Paley, and cost £10,326 (equivalent to £{{formatnum:{{Inflation|UK|10326|1932|r=-4}}}} in {{Inflation-year|UK}}).{{Inflation-fn|UK|df=y}}{{sfn|Brandwood|Austin|Hughes|Price|2012|p=253}} It is constructed in brick with stone dressings, and has windows with mixed Decorated and Perpendicular tracery.{{sfn|Hartwell|Pevsner|2009|p=157}} Only the east end of the church and 3½ bays of the nave and aisles were completed. Brandwood and his co-authors consider that the interior is "of dignity and with several inventive touches".{{sfn|Brandwood|Austin|Hughes|Price|2012|pp=184, 186}} Because it was never completed, Hartwell and Pevsner in the Buildings of England series describe it as "a stump of a church".{{sfn|Hartwell|Pevsner|2009|p=157}}

=Present day=

It continues to be an active church in the Evangelical tradition.{{Citation | url = http://www.stthomasblackpool.org/| title = Welcome| access-date = 30 August 2012| publisher = St Thomas' Church, Blackpool}}

The vicar is the Revd David O’Brien.[http://www.stthomasblackpool.org/contact-information.html St Thomas' Church website.]
