State flags of Mexico

{{Short description|none}}

Most Mexican states do not have an official flag. For these states, a de facto flag is used for civil and state purposes. State flags of Mexico have a 4:7 ratio and typically consist of a white background charged with the state's coat of arms.{{Cite web |last=Gabino Villascán |first=Juan Manuel |date=2022-09-23 |title=The states and Mexico City (Mexico) |url=https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/mx-.html |access-date=2024-10-23 |website=www.crwflags.com}}

At least fourteen states have official flags: Baja California Sur, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, and Yucatán. Except for those of Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tlaxcala and Yucatán, each official flag is simply a white background charged with the state's coat of arms.

Two states have provisions in their constitutions explicitly declaring that there shall be no official state flag, Baja California{{Cite web |date=2021-02-12 |title=Constitución Política del Estado Libre y Soberano de Baja California |url=https://www.congresobc.gob.mx/Documentos/ProcesoParlamentario/Leyes/TOMO_I/20210212_CONSTBC.PDF |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230123172514/https://www.congresobc.gob.mx/Documentos/ProcesoParlamentario/Leyes/TOMO_I/20210212_CONSTBC.PDF |archive-date=2023-01-23 |access-date=2024-10-23 |website=Poder Legislativo del Estado de Baja California |at=Page 8, Chapter 3, Article 6 |language=es}} and Campeche.{{Cite web |date=2024-09-24 |title=Constitución Política del Estado Libre y Soberano de Campeche |url=https://legislacion.congresocam.gob.mx/index.php/leyes-focalizadas/anticorrupcion/175-constitucion-politica-del-estado-de-camp |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20240521173924/http://legislacion.congresocam.gob.mx/index.php/leyes-focalizadas/anticorrupcion/175-constitucion-politica-del-estado-de-camp |archive-date=2024-05-21 |access-date=2024-10-23 |website=Portal de Legislación del Congreso del Estado de Campeche |at=Chapter 2, Article 5 |language=es}}
