Biography

Born in Douala, Cameroon, Steeve Gerard Fankà started his professional career in Italy. An illegal immigrant, he was signed by Astrea on 20 October 2006 as non-EU amateur player, as he declared that he was not registered as footballer in other nation, but rejected by FIGC because his residence permit did not fulfill the requirement (12 months residence legally before the application, which Fankà started on 16 September 2006), and the appeal rejected on 9 January, thus missing the registration deadline on 31 December.{{cite news|url=http://www.figc.it/Assets/contentresources_2/ContenutoGenerico/91.$plit/C_2_ContenutoGenerico_6426_lstAllegati_Allegato0_upfAllegato.pdf|title=Comunicato n° 009/D (Commissione tesseramenti e vertenze economiche)|date=15 November 2006|accessdate=17 July 2010|work=FIGC|language=Italian}}{{cite news|url=http://www.figc.it/Assets/contentresources_2/ContenutoGenerico/65.$plit/C_2_ContenutoGenerico_22395_StrilloComunicatoUfficiale_lstAllegati_Allegato_0_upfAllegato.pdf|title=Comunicati n° 028/C (Commissione d'appello federale)|date=9 January 2007|accessdate=17 July 2010|work=FIGC|language=Italian}}{{cite web|url=http://www.figc.it/Assets/contentresources_2/ContenutoGenerico/2.$plit/C_2_ContenutoGenerico_3817_Sezioni_lstSezioni_numSezione_1_lstCapitoli_numCapitolo_0_upfFileUpload_it.pdf|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20140408011534/http://www.figc.it/Assets/contentresources_2/ContenutoGenerico/2.$plit/C_2_ContenutoGenerico_3817_Sezioni_lstSezioni_numSezione_1_lstCapitoli_numCapitolo_0_upfFileUpload_it.pdf|archivedate=8 April 2014|title=Article 40: NOIF|date=c. 2004|accessdate=17 July 2010|work=FIGC|language=Italian}}
