Stenomelania denisoniensis is a very variable species of freshwater snail, an aquatic gastropod mollusk in the family Thiaridae.[http://www.environment.gov.au/biodiversity/abrs/online-resources/fauna/afd/taxa/81a62213-3fd1-49e1-8c4f-18c535ab4168 Australian Faunal Directory: Stenomelania denisoniensis] Stenomelania denisoniensis has a long, slender shell and small aperture. This species has a characteristic angled shoulder just below the suture. Biology and ecology
Distribution
Distribution of Stenomelania denisoniensis is endemic to Australia and includes New South Wales and Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia Is found most commonly found in tropical and subtropical Australia (the northern half of the continent).
