He was cast as the wise Comanche chief Little Elk in the 1958 episode "Renegades" of Cheyenne.

Death

Darrell died from a brain tumor in Hollywood, California. He is buried at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.{{Citation needed |date=June 2024}}
