Career

Demetriou, as a first-time candidate in 2022, successfully ran as the Republican nominee for Ohio state representative from District 35. He defeated Democratic challenger Lori O'Neill 60% to 40%.

Running for re-election in 2024, Demetriou defeated Democratic challenger Mark Curtis 52.6% to 47.4% to maintain his District 35 seat.
