==2022–23 season==
Shpendi begun the new season by scoring his first professional goal in team's 2–1 win against Carrarese on 4 September 2022.{{cite web|url=https://int.soccerway.com/matches/2022/09/04/italy/serie-c1/ac-cesena/carrarese-calcio/3946055/|title=Cesena vs. Carrarese|publisher=Soccerway|date=4 September 2022|access-date=28 January 2023}} After cementing his place in the lineup in the first weeks of the season, he fell out of favor as manager Toscano relegated him to bench for the next five league games. Shpendi played as a substitute in the matchday 14 against Ancona-Matelica, and a week later returned as a starter against Olbia, but suffered a knee injury which kept him sidelined for the next two weeks.
Shpendi returned from injury on 10 December 2022, by appearing as a second-half substitute against Vis Pesaro, scoring his side's winning goal in the process.{{cite news|url=https://cesenafc.com/it/match/2022/12/11/2022-2023/vis-pesaro-prima-squadra-2022-2023/cesena-fc|title=Vis Pesaro - Cesena|publisher=Cesena|language=it|date=10 December 2022|access-date=28 January 2023}}{{cite news|url=https://cesenafc.com/it/news/2022/10/12/-un-emozione-incredibile|title="Un'emozione incredibile"|publisher=Cesena|language=it|date=10 December 2022|access-date=28 January 2023}} Later on in the season, he regained his spot in the starting line-up, notably scoring a brace in a 3–0 away win over Pontedera, as Cesena climbed to the second spot in the championship.{{cite web|url=https://int.soccerway.com/matches/2023/01/28/italy/serie-c1/us-pontedera-1912/ac-cesena/3946286/|title=Pontedera vs. Cesena|publisher=Soccerway|date=28 January 2023|access-date=30 January 2023}}{{cite news|url=http://www.panorama.com.al/sport/video-stiven-shpendi-tund-dy-here-rrjeten-ne-itali-skuadra-e-tij-konfirmohet-pretendente-per-serine-b/|title=VIDEO/ Stiven Shpendi tund dy herë rrjetën në Itali, skuadra e tij konfirmohet pretendente për Serinë B|publisher=Panorama Sport|language=sq|date=28 January 2023|access-date=30 January 2023}}
