Films may be a maximum of three minutes and twenty seconds, a limitation of the Super 8 medium. straight 8 judges evaluate the entries and the winners are screened at film events including the Raindance Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival.{{cite web|last=Oatts|first=Joanne|title=Five News airs 'Straight 8' reporting|url=http://www.digitalspy.com/british-tv/news/a76974/five-news-airs-straight-8-reporting.html|publisher=Digital Spy|accessdate=8 December 2013}} {{cite web|last=Pulver|first=Andrew|title=Straight 8|url=https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2003/may/23/artsfeatures7|publisher=Guardian|accessdate=8 December 2013}}
