Strathlethan Bay is on the North Sea coast of Aberdeenshire, Scotland just south of Stonehaven.

To the north is Downie Point near which lies Stonehaven's Black Hill war memorial – the popular walk from Stonehaven to Dunnottar Castle runs along this part of the trail.{{cite news |title=A walk with views of Dunnottar Castle, Aberdeenshire |url=https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2012/may/12/dunnottar-castle-aberdeenshire |accessdate=15 January 2019 |work=Guardian |date=12 May 2012 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190115145014/https://www.theguardian.com/travel/2012/may/12/dunnottar-castle-aberdeenshire |archive-date=15 January 2019 |url-status=live }} On the other side of the bay is Dunnicaer, an inaccessible sea stack just offshore of Bowdun Head.{{cite web |title=Ordnance Survey Name Books OS1/19/6/47 |url=https://scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/digital-volumes/ordnance-survey-name-books/kincardineshire-os-name-books-1863/kincardineshire-volume-06/47 |website=Scotland's Places |publisher=Historic Environment Scotland |accessdate=15 January 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190115145015/https://scotlandsplaces.gov.uk/digital-volumes/ordnance-survey-name-books/kincardineshire-os-name-books-1863/kincardineshire-volume-06/47 |archive-date=15 January 2019 |url-status=live }}

The long-distance Aberdeenshire Coastal Trail runs around the bay at the top of steep cliffs.{{cite web |title=Aberdeenshire Coastal Trail |url=https://www.visitscotland.com/destinations-maps/aberdeen-city-shire/coastal-trail/ |website=Visit Scotland: Outdoors |publisher=Visit Scotland |accessdate=15 January 2019 |language=en |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190113164501/https://www.visitscotland.com/destinations-maps/aberdeen-city-shire/coastal-trail/ |archive-date=13 January 2019 |url-status=live |df=dmy-all }}

On 19 November 1916 the wreckage of the Norwegian steamer Isa Fiord (meaning ice fiord) was washed ashore in the bay and on 8 October 1940 the Danish ship Bellona II came aground after it had suffered bombing damage off Gourdon.{{canmore|num=121235|desc=Isa Fiord: Strathlethan Bay, North Sea}}{{cite web |title=Shetland, Orkney, Caithness, Sutherland and The East Coast |url=http://ninetradesofdundee.co.uk/download/mariners_&_seamen/lights_and_navigation/shipwrecks/Dictionary.pdf |website=Dictionary of Scottish Shipwrecks, Volume One |accessdate=15 January 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190115145015/http://ninetradesofdundee.co.uk/download/mariners_%26_seamen/lights_and_navigation/shipwrecks/Dictionary.pdf |archive-date=15 January 2019 |url-status=live }}{{canmore|num=313094|desc=Bellona II: Strathlethan Bay, North Sea}}
