The 1996 "Strike Hard" Anti-Crime Campaign ({{Lang-zh|c=1996年严打:zh:1996年严打/第二次严打|p=}}), the second Strike Hard or Stern Blow Anti-Crime Campaign of 1996, was an anti-crime campaign launched by the People's Republic of China. The initiator was Jiang Zemin, the new General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party who had been groomed by former state leader Deng Xiaoping. In 2005, serial killer Zhao Zhihong confessed to the murder. Huugjilt was posthumously exonerated.
  • The Xiaoshan Case: In 1995, the Chinese Communist Party convicted five young men, Tian Xiaoping, Chen Jianyang, Tian Weidong, Wang Jianping, and Zhu Youping, of murdering two taxi drivers, Xu Caihua and Chen Jinjiang, in Zhejiang.
