Production

Strongest Deliveryman was produced by Jidam Inc. for KBS. Jidam also produced Jang Bo-ri Is Here!, My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol and Mrs. Cop 2 as well as the KBS daily dramas Ruby Ring and Two Mothers.{{cite news|date=November 21, 2016|title=윤시윤 측 "'최강배달꾼' 제작진 한 번 만났을 뿐"|trans-title=Yoon Si-yoon's side: "I only met the 'Strongest Deliveryman' production team once"|url=http://news.joins.com/article/20902928|newspaper=JoongAng Ilbo|access-date=May 17, 2017|archive-date=August 7, 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170807232311/http://news.joins.com/article/20902928|url-status=dead}}

Yoon Shi-yoon was offered the lead role, but declined because of a conflict with filming the drama Hit the Top.

Originally, Jang Mi-kwan and Lee Yeol-eum were set to play the second lead characters, Oh Jin-gyu and Lee Ji-yoon, but there was a change in casting and the roles were given to Kim Seon-ho and Go Won-hee. The producer of Strongest Deliveryman explained that Jang Mi-kwan left the cast due to disagreements.{{cite web|author=tineybeanie|date=2017-06-28|title=Thumbs-up for Strongest Deliveryman's first script read|url=http://www.dramabeans.com/2017/06/thumbs-up-for-strongest-deliverymans-first-script-read/|website=Dramabeans|access-date=2017-07-11|archive-date=July 18, 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170718230859/http://www.dramabeans.com/2017/06/thumbs-up-for-strongest-deliverymans-first-script-read/|url-status=live}}{{cite web|author=kiddy_days|date=2017-06-13|title="Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" Villain Jang Mi Kwan's Upcoming Drama Role Falls Through|url=https://www.soompi.com/2017/06/13/strong-woman-bong-soon-villain-jang-mi-kwans-upcoming-drama-role-falls/|website=Soompi|access-date=2017-07-11|archive-date=June 13, 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170613235241/https://www.soompi.com/2017/06/13/strong-woman-bong-soon-villain-jang-mi-kwans-upcoming-drama-role-falls/|url-status=live}}
