Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) is a nonprofit legal advocacy organization founded in 2014 by conservative activist Edward Blum for the purpose of challenging affirmative action admissions policies at schools.{{Cite news |last=Borter|first=Gabriella |date=June 29, 2023 |title=Factbox: Who's who in the Supreme Court's affirmative action cases |url=https://www.reuters.com/legal/whos-who-supreme-courts-affirmative-action-cases-2023-06-29/ |url-status=live |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230708175756/https://www.reuters.com/legal/whos-who-supreme-courts-affirmative-action-cases-2023-06-29/ |archive-date=July 8, 2023 |access-date=July 8, 2023 |work=Reuters |language=en-US}}{{Cite web |title=Project on Fair Representation Files Suits against Harvard and UNC |url=https://studentsforfairadmissions.org/ |access-date=1 August 2016 |website=Students For Fair Admissions}} In June 2023, the Supreme Court ruled in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard that affirmative action programs in college admissions (excepting military academies) are unconstitutional.

SFFA has been described by its opponents as an anti-affirmative action group that objects to the use of race as one of the factors in college admissions.{{Cite news |last=Ko |first=Lisa |date=October 14, 2018 |title=Opinions: The Myth of the Interchangeable Asian |work=The New York Times |department=Opinions}}

Lawsuits

SFFA is an offshoot of the Project on Fair Representation. SFFA's federal lawsuits have targeted Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Blum has set up websites to seek out plaintiffs.{{Cite web |title=Harvard University Not Fair |url=http://harvardnotfair.org/ |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20140810063233/http://harvardnotfair.org/ |url-status=usurped |archive-date=August 10, 2014 |access-date=1 August 2016 |website=Not Fair Harvard}}{{Cite web |title=Not Fair: UNC |url=http://uncnotfair.org/ |access-date=1 August 2016 |website=The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Not Fair}}{{Cite web |title=Not Fair: UW |url=http://uwnotfair.org/ |access-date=1 August 2016 |website=The University of Wisconsin at Madison Not Fair}}

Unlike the Fisher case, in which the plaintiff, Abigail Fisher, made herself public, the students rejected by Harvard and UNC have not revealed their identities because they want to shield themselves from potential retaliation.{{Cite news |last=Edwards |first=Giles |date=29 July 2016 |title=Abigail Fisher: Affirmative action plaintiff 'proud' of academic record |url=https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36928990 |access-date=1 August 2016 |work=www.bbc.com |publisher=BBC News}}
